Night Shift and Weight Gain
Night shift nurses have super busy schedule. I worked several years in the Neonatal ICU on the night shift. I know how brutal it can be.
You don't have to gain weight while working night shift. There are certain strategies that you can do to fight the night shift weight gain. I was actually able to lose fat while working on night shift. There are certain tips for working the night shift that will help you to stay on track with your health and fitness.
Make sure your nutrition plan is healthy and a solid one. Healthy eating during your night shift is key to counter acting your body's natural drive to store fat on night shift. You have to counter act the cortisol being produced as a result of lack of sleep through healthy eating.
You will need to make time for exercise! Burst training is perfect for a busy schedule because you can knock those workouts out in 20 minutes and get an amazing energy boost that will help keep you awake during that night shift!
