Iron is an essential mineral that relies heavily on adequate contact with stomach acid for absorption in the digestive tract. For this reason, many patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgeries develop iron deficiency. In a state of iron deficiency, it is best to supplement iron separately from other minerals to reduce competition for absorption. Calcium, for example, can impair the absorption of iron. This chewable iron is made from a special very soluble form that has almost no iron taste- in fact, most people who taste it can't believe it's iron at all. This formula also contains vitamin C and FOS, which have been shown to support iron absorption.

It is a strange comment when referencing a supplement but this iron is delicious!! This is my go to iron supplement hence forth. Definitely recommend this to all my fellow gastric bypass comrades. Will buy again.

Awesome!

I am 52 years old and had gastric bypass surgery 13 years ago. I have always taken an iron tablet once a day. After recently having my labs done my doctor called me into her office and told me to immediately go to ER and have a blood transfusion because my iron was 6.1. I had felt overly tired but had no idea that was why. Needless to say I was in the hospital for 3 days having all kinds of tests ran to make sure there was no internal bleeding. Luckily they just came to the conclusion that I am anemic. After 2 units of blood and a iron infusion I left the hospital at 9.1. I was told to do liquid iron 3 times a day along with a chewable vitamin C. My tummy just didn't seem to like the liquid iron, so I neglected to take it as often. I had my labs done a month later and I was now a 7.5. I did some research and found these gem of iron chewables. I can keep them in my purse and chew them easily 3 times a day. They taste like a sweet tart candy so I don't mind the taste at all. No more having to take with vitamin C either since these have it in them. So happy I found them. I am already feeling better and have noticed an increase in my energy level. Looking forward to seeing what next month's labs results are.

Great taste, and on behalf of myself and similarly situated iron-deficient persons I thank you for putting so much IRON into a single, nice-tasting chewable pill
by on 3/17/2016
These are easily chewed and swallowed and have a strong lemony flavor that is very pleasant. They do not taste of iron and are easy on the stomach. They are especially great for those who have been medically diagnosed as having an iron deficiency because each pill contains 60 mg. of iron, as opposed to 20-30 mg of iron that is contained in most other chewable iron tablets on the market. My doctor has recommended I have 60-65 mg. of iron 2-3 times per day. With these pills it is easy to comply

These aren't chalky and they dissolve pretty fast. They also have a nice, zingy lemon flavor.

Very good

Like the taste. It's a good size, I let it dissolve instead of chewing it & it doesn't take long at all. One a day meets my requirement. Definitely recommend it to anyone who has had WLS.
