Iron is an essential mineral that relies heavily on adequate contact with stomach acid for absorption in the digestive tract. For this reason, many patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgeries develop iron deficiency. In a state of iron deficiency, it is best to supplement iron separately from other minerals to reduce competition for absorption. Calcium, for example, can impair the absorption of iron. This chewable iron is made from a special very soluble form that has almost no iron taste- in fact, most people who taste it can't believe it's iron at all. This formula also contains vitamin C and FOS, which have been shown to support iron absorption.

As a successful gastric bypassed, I’ve needed extra iron for over 10 years. I’ve tried many supplements and these small chewables are the best. The only downside I’ve found is that they tend to absorb water, so I do use more stable tablets for my travel needs. These are my primary added iron supplement, and they have helped me stay healthy and active.

I was a victim of a horrible crime last year and received multiple stabs from butcher knife in my abdomen. I had two stomach surgeries and one was similar to a gastric bypass even though I was normal weight. My iron levels kept dropping and dropping until I became anemic (unusual for a man). I then had a colonoscopy to rule out internal bleeding and luckily nothing found. Doctor suggested iron infusion but wanted to try something else. I found these and after 2 months I got new lab work. Iron and Ferrin levels are back to normal! I was so relieved. The chewable taste like sour sweet tarts and I always take on empty stomach. Wash down with water and wait awhile before eating. I was very skeptical if these would work and I can tell you they do. Feel much more energy and worth a try before doing iron infusions.

Tried many types of iron before finding these. They are easy to remember because they don't need to be refrigerated. And they taste like a sweet-tart, so I don't mind taking them! Really improved my iron levels; mostly because I wasn't forgetting to take them.

My iron has always been low. After I had bariatric surgery I had to have 2 vials of iron as I was still iron deficient even though I was taking over the counter (expensive) iron. After I started taking this my labs went up, but now I take 3 a day and my lab work is the best it has ever been. Taste I don't really like but can tolerate it as long as my iron levels are where they need to be.

Several years ago, my surgeon put me go on 60 mg iron . He recommended this product and I tried it. I hated the taste of liquid iron so this was perfect. The taste of this is like having a sweet tart, which I love. Now I no longer have any iron deficiencies in my labs. Perfect solution for me. Like the idea of only having to buy every nine months. Wish it wasn't so expensive, but it is the best price I could find. Been taking it for several years now and see no reason to stop. Expect to be a lifetime customer.

Was diagnosed with anemia so started taking 60mg chewable iron,lemon lime flavor.Last labs taken showed an improvement.Love the take and very easy to take iron in chewable form.
