They are best when kept in the freezer. Crunchy and sweet, but not too sweet. I like them before I run in the AM, because they aren't too heavy. Perfect snack in the afternoon or after a long walk or run. Does not taste like a piece of cardboard like some others i have tried. They taste like those popular wafer cookies, except these are much, much tastier! I was surprised at how delicious the vanilla flavor is. I do not exaggerate when I describe them as bursting with flavor. Those conventional wafer cookies you get at many stores are tasteless and not nearly as satisfying as these. It is a real bonus to get 14 grams of protein too. I also tried the wild berry creme flavor and the triple chocolate. The vanilla and the wild berry creme are my favorites, so far. I plan on trying the other flavors. These bars are another great way to change up the routine and try some new flavors while getting a good helping of protein. We no longer utilize hydrogented oils in our formulation. WE corrected this in 2007. What you may be looking at is an older package that is still lingering on one on the many sites that sell Power Crunch. I am always on the look out for a nutritious product for post workout snacks. Upon review of the ingredients, I was shocked to find the use of Partially Hydrogenated Oils in this product! How can a company that promotes health and healthy nutrition think about using Hydrogenated Oils in their products? It is common knowledge of the dangers Trans Fats pose to lipids; they increase the LDL and decrease HDL! I will not buy or recommend this product. They are great quality too using Proto Whey Protein. I usually eat one after a work out. It keeps me going for hours. More Protein than you realize!by Deb from North Carolina on 1/28/2010 One reason (besides the delicious taste) that this bar is so great is that the micro peptides and how they are metabolized by the body actually equate to about 30-35 grams of usable protein and not the 13 grams shown. It actually tasted very similar to a Coffee Crisp chocolate bar (a common chocolate bar in Canada, not sure if you guys have them in Canada though). Its seems like a pretty good caloric deal for 200 calories and 13 grams of protein. As someone else has noted, the bars are very light and airy meaning they don't taste all that feeling, but the protein is high enough that I feel quite full after. The other problem is that they are very crumbly so you have to be careful packing them for on the run. Although I have eaten these for breakfast and occasionally for lunch on my busy days...I have not lost weight. They are all crunchy and very satisfying. Some of these are DELICIOUSby from southeastern mi on 5/15/2009 The vanilla, cinnamon, peanut butter and chocolate are wonderful. The others have an aftertaste. The cinnamon is my fav. It is very mild...not strong...very nice flavor. Downside...not filling and easy to overeat they are that good. I'm glad they are sold individually. Boxes of them would be a dangerous situation. My husband brought some home after a triathalon. It is delicious! and, though it is higher calorie than some "diet" bars, it is good nutrition and very satisfying. Thank you for offering them.
