Lose Weight While At Work


The realization came to me like a cold, hard, painful slap on the face: I am fat. I could still remember that fateful day when the heavy skies fell down on me, crushing my whole being entirely. All thanks to a dear friend who made me open my eyes to the harsh reality.

The harsh reality came to me one bright Saturday morning as my friend and I were heading home from an all-night out on the town. We were seated comfortably at the back of a cab, chatting as we wound down the streets of Barrie. Out of nowhere, my friend dropped a "you're freaking fat" bomb on me. I tried to convince myself she was just in a drunker stupor. Who was I kidding, we have been talking for minutes and she was sober as can be. What I thought was a joke turned out to be the closest thing to the Ugly Truth.

It was only then that thoughts of losing weight came to mind. Maybe it really was high time for me to lose what I have always considered as baby fat. I got into the hype of it all, researching for the most effective diets on days end that I almost neglected my tasks of ordering packaging supplies for our Ontario-based moving company in Barrie. I asked Mommy if I could take some time off doing packing service for movers in Ontario so I could focus on operation weight-loss. Being the supportive parent that she is, Mommy agreed to lighten my load a bit and even gave some sound weight loss tips.

Barely a month into my image-change project and I already wanted out. Draining diets and exhaustive workouts were getting the best of me and, still, little or no noticeable results. In a week's time it would be homecoming already and I wasn't in my best shape just yet. I guess buying a dress two sizes too small wasn't the best idea after all. Mommy, noticing my distress, suggested I just drop the weight-loss scheme and instead invest my time in much more important and rewarding things like, say, rendering quality moving service in Ontario. What I thought was a simple plot to get me back to (real) work turned out to be a brilliant weight-loss plan.

I joined the team of expert movers in Barrie, ON as they transported furniture around town. I figured that helping movers haul heavy objects was the epitome of "lose weight while you work". It was no easy job, I tell you. There was an instance wherein the moving truck just died on us and I insisted on manually push the larger than life vehicle to the nearest gasoline station despite the availability of towing services. I lost my favorite pair of deep purple velveteen flats in the process - the soles were paper-thin after the heavy pushing. I do hope I fit into my two-sizes-too-small dress come homecoming day, lest my sacrifices would amount to nothing.
