Pregnancy is a time you may try to stick to eating healthy but we tend to have all those cravings for high fat, sugary and salty foods. It is best if you do not become obsessed with your weight during or right after pregnancy. Gaining anywhere between 35-50 pounds is perfectly normal. If you can breastfeed your baby it burns a lot of extra calories. While you may find it hard to believe, breastfeeding burns about 500-700 calories. This will help you lose the belly. Did you know during pregnancy, your body gains approximately 9 pounds just for the purpose of lactation and if you don't breastfeed your baby, guess what? Those extra pounds are still there, adding additional pounds and more belly fat. When you and the baby first come home from the hospital, you won't find time for anything. Walks will serve as good start to getting some exercise and get you on your road to losing the baby belly. The perfect exercise for new moms, it helps you relieve stress and gives you a break from all those tiring responsibilities. In addition, this is something you can do with a friend and with your new baby. You can take your new baby in a stroller or walk them around your home holding them in your arms. But get walking. In order to lose the belly fat, stay active as much as possible. Carry your baby in a baby carrier or sling. Having your child attached to your body will discourage you from sitting more than you should. It will help you to stay active which is imperative to lose the belly fat. Another important thing to keep in mind when making efforts to lose the baby belly is to keep your caffeine consumption under check. This is because caffeine lowers your sugar levels and to balance it, most moms resort to the sweetened stuff. Enjoy being a new mother and nurturing your baby.
