Avoid the alcoholic beverages. The ever-famous beer belly should be proof enough that too much alcohol is not good. Not only will it leave you bloated, it can also slow down your metabolism. Moreover, it is brimming with calories and have as much calories per gram like fat.

Don't deprive yourself of your favorite holiday treats. This is a bit similar with not starving yourself but making sure that you eat things in moderation. After all, too much of anything can never be good for us. Make sure to eat slowly as well, savor every bite and enjoy the treats instead of swallowing it all down in a hurry.

Eat all meals properly and exercise. The only way you can achieve good results is if you observe proper diet and constantly exercise. This is a common choice for some people but not all observe properly. People like to go on diets, because they think it produces most effective results.
