Losing weight can be a challenge for some. But there are small but effective changes you can make to your diet to make a difference. Exercise does help with weight loss, but weight loss begins in the kitchen. Hopefully this article will help you to make healthier food choices to help jump-start your weight loss. The first thing you must do is eat healthy fats with most of your meals. To keep your metabolism up it is important to eat enough healthy fats. Another bonus healthy fats provides your body is to help keep your appetite under control so you don't eat too much. Healthy fats can come from a number of sources: coconut oil, extra virgin oil, seeds, raw nuts, avocados, egg yolks, and grass fed meats. Coconut oil is a good source of healthy saturated fats that art medium chain triglycerides. Grass fed meats are a good source of linoleic acid, which helps build muscle and burn fat. Try eating a handful of raw nuts a couple times a day. Almonds or pecans are great choices for raw nuts. Eat either almonds or pecans less than an hour before meals. This will help you to suppress your appetite. It also will give you some fiber, healthy fats, and protein so you do not overeat at meals. This will also provide your body with more nutrition from the nutrient rich nuts. The second thing you can do is consume quality protein with your meals. Quality proteins will suppress your appetite to prevent overeating. You can get quality proteins from beans, nuts, and grass fed meats. If you want to build lean muscle, consuming a good amount of quality protein is the way to go. The more lean muscle the body has the better metabolism you will have. Take in enough quality protein to speed up your metabolism and burn fat. Taking in enough protein will benefit diabetics and non-diabetics. Consuming enough protein helps your body to control insulin and blood sugar levels. This prevents the dreaded blood sugar spike, which is anything but healthy for a diabetic. The last tip is to not go crazy with carbohydrates. I am not saying go on a low carb diet, but you do need to watch how many carbs you do take in. The body does need carbs to function (you will struggle to make it through a workout without eating any carbs), but eating them in excess does not help with weight loss. Eat carbs in moderation, but do not completely take them out of your diet. One sugar that is okay to consume is fructose. Fructose is found in fruits. The fiber that is in fruits helps to slow down the blood sugar response in your body. But I have to caution you when it comes to sugary fruit juices. The fiber in fruit juices is removed during processing which can cause an unhealthy rise in blood sugar when you drink fruit juice. When you lessen the amount of grains you consume you will better your chances of losing body fat. Try eating fruits as your carbs instead of eating a bunch of grains. Adding a vegetable to every meal won't hurt either. So to review, eat more healthy fats, quality proteins, and control the amount of carbs you take in. When you make these simple changes in your diet you will increase your weight loss and be on your way to a healthier and slimmer body. These tips will help you to have a healthy weight loss.
