Discouragement comes to people who are overweight because they are thinking that they have to shed a ton of excess fat before they can actually experience any benefit. But based on studies, even if they can only lose five to ten per cent of their present body weight, it will result in great improvement to their health. If you will compute that, that will not be too much asking of you. A small drop in your present weight is a good start. We are a creature of habit. Think back how you got that excess weight. A little extra sweets and pastries there and a little sweet carbonated drink there, every now and then, taken on regular basis. Eating unnecessarily, even in reality you are just thirsty. Doing this habitually, then without you knowing it you are already obese. When can you be categorized as obese? It is this: the healthy total body fat level for a man must be less than 18% while for a woman it should be less than 23%. If a person weighs 20% higher than the desired level, then he or she is an obese. Have you noticed on how an obese person eats? It seems that he or she just won't stop eating! Their appetite is insatiable! The reason is this. The problem with people who are obese is the presence of abundant C-reactive proteins. This CRP binds the hormone called Leptin. Leptin is the hormone that is supposed to trigger the mind to stop eating because it already had enough. But since the CRP binds the Leptin, then this direction from the brain don't happen; and so the person does not necessarily have that much appetite really! The key then is to burn those extra fats and to regulate calorie intake. The calorie is the energy that is needed to move the body or to help it in the metabolic processes. Whatever you eat should be commensurate to the body's daily activity. If there are more calorie taken in than the body's daily activity output, the calories are then stored in the body as fat. This results in weight gain. If the muscles are not active, it will not absorb the calories as stored energy source, the calorie goes to the body fat. But if the body's system detects that your lean mass is active, then those calories will be stored there as reserve energy. As mentioned above, we are a creature of habit, slowly build the habit of doing some activity daily. Don't think of a complicated weight management. Make it simple; just do it on the first available time you have. The most simple is walking. Start with just 5 min slow, then 10 min fast and end with 5 min slow. Do some basic stretching before and after. Once you start feeling the good effect of this simple beginning, your body will then be the one to prompt you to do further health directed activity and out you go to the world of healthier life! There are still so many other methods that are helpful in managing excess weight and fats and one can browse through the web for more valuable information and advice.
