Since I have done so well with my fitness goals in a recent transformation contest I would like to help you out today with some tips for your body transformation. Most of these are tips that I followed and a couple I learned along the way and I wish I could have started with them. Here are the 5 Transformation Contest Tips Take lots of measurements Most contests will only require you to take your waist and weight measurements. If you are some one that wants to do the bare minimum in life and just get by then this is probably what you will do. I am not one of those people. I went above and beyond and took extra measurements for my neck, shoulder width, arms, forearms, thighs and calves. This gave me a better idea of where I lost the weight and what I still needed to improve on. Take lots of pictures The transformation contest I competed in only asked for a front picture of before and after. This was actually the picture that showed the least change for me. It would have been pretty depressing thinking I did all this hard work and had minimal change. I also took a picture of my back and a side profile. I wish I would have taken a couple flexed pictures as well to see if I gained or lost any muscle. Set your goals If you do not have any goals set, then what is the point? So many people go though life without ever setting up goals. If you don't want to achieve anything great then you could do this. Setting goals will only improve your transformation because you have something to strive for. It could be 10 lbs, 3 inches lost or 1 inch of muscle on your arms. It all depends on what you are trying to achieve. Start your workout before the contest starts I learned this the hard way. I started my workout when the contest started and I did too much, too soon. By the end of the first week my back was in pain and all my other muscles as well. If you are a workout newbie or have not exercised in a while then I suggest you start a couple weeks early with a light workout. If you are doing a specific workout for the contest then you can start with something different for the pre transformation contest workout. Plan your workouts I found that planning my workouts on the calendar a head of time helped me to stick with them. Just think of them like you would an appointment with your doctor or some other appointment you would get charged if you cancelled. You can plan it out by week or plan out the full contest like I did. If you have no choice but to miss a workout due to injury then just wait till you have healed rather than re-injuring yourself. I did this and it just set me back longer. Lucky for me this was after I was done the contest. Hopefully these tips are helpful for your transformation.
