Lose Weight By Finding Out Why You Overeat


Before embarking on any new weight loss diet or programme you need to answer one simple question. Why am I overweight? I firmly believe that you cannot find a weight loss solution until you know what your weight loss problem is. Until you have answered that question you should not even contemplate starting any weight loss diet or buying any weight loss aids.

We all have different reasons for being overweight. For some it may be because you have a medical condition that is causing you to gain weight. If you think this may be a possibility then your first port of call MUST be a doctor. They will carry out tests and then give you a diagnosis and then offer you the help that you require. One reason could be that you live a particularly sedimentary lifestyle. Another could be you have no willpower, you love food, your menopausal, you comfort eat because you are stressed or you do not know the right foods to eat or when to eat them. There are loads of different reasons why we overeat but you must discover YOUR reason.

An example could be that you are suffering from stress. When you are stressed your body produces a flood of hormones, one being cortisol. This hormone can cause an increase in your appetite. Or because your stressed you comfort eat. Before you can begin to overcome your weight gain, you need to address your anxiety problem. Another simple example, you love food. If this is the case it is no good trying to start a diet where you have to survive on 1000 calories per day or embark on a regime that does not allow you to eat the foods that you enjoy. You will ultimately fail and thousands of people do each day.

Once you have discovered your problem, only then can you find a solution. Lets be honest, there are a tonne of diets, weight loss programmes, appetite suppressants etc out there and a lot of them have great weight loss reviews but what works for one person does not necessarily work for another. Some are very expensive, which you don't mind paying for as long as they work but how do you know? Well nothing is guaranteed BUT if you know it primarily addresses your own personal problem then at least there is a good chance that you will succeed and lose that unwanted weight.
