After you have had a baby, you may notice that you have picked up a reasonable amount of extra weight. This is perfectly normal, and there is no need to be too concerned. It is possible to lose those pounds that you acquired while you were pregnant, and these six weight loss tips can help. 1. Do not stress yourself starting a strict, low calorie diet. It is stressful enough with the new baby, and you do not want to add to it by worrying about your weight. Try to eat a well balanced diet, with enough calories to give you energy. Make sure that you do not go for long periods of time without eating, as it will slow your metabolism. 2. Consider eating several small meals each day, as opposed to three larger ones. This will help preventing the stomach to stretch which makes you more hungry. Studies show that eating six meals per day can be good for metabolism, and help to stabilize blood sugar levels. 3. Many people think that breastfeeding can be a good way to help losing body fat. However, there is conflicting evidence as to the weight loss benefits of breastfeeding. Yet, you can eat an extra three hundred calories per day, when you are breastfeeding. That is over two thousand calories per week. Breast feeding will also help tighten the stomach area. 4. Make sure and stay hydrated, as your body needs plenty of water, especially if you are breastfeeding. It is easier to lose body fat, if you keep your body well hydrated. You also will feel fuller between meals, when you add more water to your diet. 5. Do whatever you can to increase your exercise level. For example, new mothers may be less likely to go out for exercise. However, there is no reason that you cannot take the new baby for a walk in the stroller, if the weather is nice. It will be good for both of you, and you will burn off extra calories. 6. Get as much rest as possible, and it will help you to be more active during the day. This may be easier said than done, with some babies. Try to sleep when the baby does, this way you can have undisturbed rest. Weight loss after pregnancy can be accomplished, if you do not over stress yourself with a low calorie diet. Try to eat smaller, more frequent meals, and breastfeeding will allow you 300 more calories each day. Drink plenty of water and take the baby on walks, when possible. Also, get plenty of rest and try to sleep when your baby does. Author: Emma Jane White Are you tired of trying different ways to lose weight and want just one solution?
