Fast weight loss programs are all doomed to fail and there are some very compelling reasons why you should never embark on this type of weight loss program ever. Fast weight loss program failures are due to the fact that in a program that is based on speed, there is little, if any, attention paid to what types of weight loss occurs. Most programs that promise huge results in a very short space of time will not tell you that the loss comprises of water and muscle and seldom has anything to do with fat loss. Fast weight loss takes place in a sequence and the faster you lose the weight, the more detrimental the sequence can be. First you will be begin to lose water weight, which will return once you begin to eat normally again. Second you will incur lean muscle loss which is both dangerous and counterproductive. Finally you may experience some fat loss. Unfortunately by the time your muscle begins to break down and your metabolism slows down, you´re fast weight program will be in jeopardy as will any future attempts to lose fat. Fast weight loss programs should always be replaced with fat loss programs that target the fat stores in your body and makes use of that to energize and feed your body during your exercise regime. Maintaining your lean muscle will prevent your metabolic rate from dropping which is the main reason that many dieters experience yo-yoing weight issues between programs. By taking the time to lose fat rather than weight, you can actually eat substantially more and ensure that the fat loss is permanent. Slowing down also allows your body to acclimatize to your new eating and exercise regime and your body has time to respond with improve skin tone, muscle tone and a higher level of energy, naturally. The final fast weight loss program fallacy that is touted throughout the weight loss industry is that intense exercise is the best and fastest way to lose weight. Resistance exercise is the holy grail of fat loss and is easier to do and less strain on the body. Not only does it burn fat reserves more than cardio exercises will but also result in "after burn" where fat reserves continue to breakdown after your exercise for the day is done.
